Active Manuka Honey and Manuka Honey Products

A good facial contributes a lot in reenergizing your skin. A honey facial pack works wonders for that dull and bad skin. It’s indeed an experience to get a honey facial done. Manuka honey products are presently considered the prime natural healers in this world. In fact medical research has backed active manuka honey, having it’s origins in New Zealand, as a potent cure for several disorders. A few of the ailments that find a cure in these honey products are peptic ulcers, leg ulcers, wounds and digestive problems.

Honey is credited with beauty care but due to its incredible antibiotic and antibacterial properties, honey is increasingly becoming a part of treatment for wounds, incisions, cuts and burns. It is an effective moisturizer too. Cleansers, shampoos, conditioners and skin cream have honey as an ingredient for precisely this reason. This moisturizing property of honey, especially active manuka honey, makes it also the ideal choice for a facial component. Honey facial is extremely beneficial to the skin. Honey qualifies as humectants, meaning it helps retain water in the skin. Honey also acts an anti-irritant with this reason for its wide scale inclusion in the list of sensitive skin beauty care regimes.

The Waikato University in New Zealand has conducted several researches in assessing the medicinal properties of active manuka honey. They have concluded that active manuka honey has several healing properties in excess usual honey. The University of Auckland and the University of Wales Institute Cardiff are trying to find the usefulness of this special active honey in the treatment of leg ulcers.

Try taking a honey bath. Add a quarter cup of honey to the bath water. For that extra glow the mixture should be 1 teaspoon of honey in 4 cups of honey water in proportion. For blond hair, use some lemon for better effects. The mixture should be applied to your hair after washing it with shampoo. Try not to wash it all off. Dry your hair as you do it usually while taking extra care in what you do.

A mixture of 2 tablespoons of honey and 2 teaspoons of milk can be used as a facial mask. Similarly a concoction of 1 teaspoon of honey, ¼ teaspoon lemon and ¼ teaspoon of vegetable oil is a moisturizer for applying on to dry skin. It also serves to make the skin smooth. Another useful mixture could be that of 1 tablespoon of honey, 2 tablespoons of crushed almonds and ½ teaspoon of lemon juice to use as a cleanser.
